TCAT is committed to developing guidance that works in the real world. Our guidance documents are developed with input and oversight from a wide range of stakeholders.

In Fall 2025, we are facilitating a corporate pilot for our first two guidance documents. A second pilot phase will follow in 2026. The companies in these pilots will play a critical role in validating the usability, clarity, and effectiveness of the guidance.

Additionally, TCAT will conduct a public consultation in early 2026. The second version of the guidance documents will be finalized and published by the end of 2026, taking into consideration both the pilot and public consultation inputs. Reach out if you’d like us to contact you when more details about upcoming consultation opportunities become available.

Upcoming Pilots

A group of leading companies is piloting the Task Force for Corporate Action Transparency’s (TCAT) draft guidance documents—the Mitigation Action Accounting and Reporting Guidance (MAARG) and the Target Accounting and Reporting Guidance (TARG).

Through these pilots, participating companies are testing and applying the draft guidance across a range of sectors and use cases. Their feedback will help ensure that the MAARG and the TARG are complete, grounded in real world applicability, and support high-integrity corporate climate action.

Participation in the pilots does not imply endorsement of or a commitment to follow the guidance in its current form or any future guidance. Rather, it reflects a shared ambition to support the development of transparent climate accounting and reporting guidance.

Pilot 1 will take place in fall 2025.

Pilot 2 will take place in 2026.

We have more than a dozen companies piloting the guidance including:
